Jakarta [B2B] - Presiden RI Joko Widodo [Jokowi], meninjau kesiapan Jakarta Convention Center [JCC] yang akan menjadi tempat penyelenggaraan Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi [KTT] ke-43 ASEAN pada 5-7 September mendatang.

Jokowi tiba di JCC sekitar pukul 09.30 WIB didampingi sejumlah menteri, antara lain, Menteri Luar Negeri [Menlu] Retno LP Marsudi, Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat [PUPR] Basuki Hadimuljono, dan Menteri Badan Usaha Milik Negara [BUMN] Erick Thohir.

Jokowi terlihat meninjau tempat pertemuan KTT di Plenary Hall JCC. Selain itu, Presiden juga meninjau Media Center KTT ke-43 ASEAN yang berlokasi di Hall B, JCC.

Dalam keterangan kepada awak media usai peninjauan, Jokowi menyampaikan bahwa persiapan rangkaian pertemuan KTT ASEAN tersebut hampir sepenuhnya rampung.

"Saya melihat persiapan sudah 99,9 persen siap kita melaksanakan ASEAN Summit. Dan, ya kecil-kecil tadi yang perlu dirampungkan dalam sehari-dua hari," ujar Presiden.

Salah satu hal minor yang disoroti Presiden terkait persiapan KTT ASEAN di JCC adalah posisi bendera negara-negara ASEAN yang dinilainya kurang pas.

"Bendera kurang naik, gitu-gitu saja," kata Jokowi.

Terkait kehadiran para pemimpin negara ASEAN, negara mitra, dan tamu undangan lainnya, Presiden mengatakan sudah menerima konfirmasi yang saat ini prosesnya sedang ditangani Kemenlu.

Sedangkan terkait agenda KTT, Presiden mengatakan Keketuaan Indonesia di ASEAN yang mengusung tema ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth ini memiliki sejumlah agenda penting, salah satunya pertumbuhan ekonomi di kawasan.

"[Agendanya] banyak tetapi fokusnya di ekonomi. Ya pada pertumbuhan, ASEAN sebagai pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi," ujarnya

Keketuaan Indonesia, lanjut Jokowi, juga memfokuskan pada kemanfaatan KTT bagi masyarakat ASEAN.

"Sejak awal saya sampaikan bahwa ASEAN ini tidak hanya berbicara tinggi-tinggi, tetapi betul-betul bisa ada manfaatnya ke bawah, ke masyarakat," tandasnya.

Jakarta [B2B] - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), reviewed the readiness of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) which will be the venue for the 43rd ASEAN Summit on 5-7 September.

Jokowi arrived at the JCC around 09.30 WIB accompanied by a number of ministers, including Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir.

Jokowi was seen inspecting the summit meeting location at the JCC Plenary Hall. Apart from that, the President also visited the Media Center of the 43rd ASEAN Summit which is located in Hall B, JCC.

In a statement to the media crew after the review, Jokowi said that the preparations for the ASEAN Summit series of meetings were almost completely completed.

"I see that the preparations are 99.9 percent ready for us to carry out the ASEAN Summit. And yes, the small things that need to be completed in a day or two," said the President.

One of the minor things that the President highlighted regarding the preparations for the ASEAN Summit at the JCC was the position of the flags of ASEAN countries which he considered not quite right.

"The flag didn´t go up enough, that´s all," said Jokowi.

Regarding the presence of the leaders of ASEAN countries, partner countries, and other invited guests, the President said he had received confirmation that currently the process was being handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, regarding the agenda for the Summit, the President said that Indonesia´s chairmanship in ASEAN, which carries the theme ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth, has a number of important agendas, one of which is economic growth in the region.

"[There are] many agendas but the focus is on the economy. Yes, on growth, ASEAN is the center of economic growth," he said

Indonesia´s chairmanship, continued Jokowi, also focused on the benefits of the summit for the ASEAN community.

"From the start, I said that ASEAN is not only talking highly of it, but that there can really be benefits down to the community," he said.
