Jakarta [B2B] - Presiden RI Joko Widodo [Jokowi] menekankan bahwa ASEAN memerlukan strategi taktis yang luar biasa untuk menghadapi tantangan global saat ini sekaligus mewujudkan ASEAN sebagai pusat pertumbuhan atau epicentrum of growth.
Hal tersebut disampaikan Jokowi saat membuka ASEAN Business Investment Summit Tahun 2023, di Istana Negara, Jakarta, Jumat [1/9].
"Di tengah kondisi dunia yang sedang tidak baik-baik saja, strategi ASEAN tidak bisa juga hanya biasa-biasa saja, enggak bisa. ASEAN butuh strategi taktis yang extraordinary, jadi strateginya bukan strategi besar, tapi strategis taktis yang extraordinary," ujar Jokowi.
Dalam mengimplementasikan strategis taktis tersebut, diperlukan kerja sama yang solid antarnegara, antarpengusaha, dan antarmasyarakat di kawasan. Oleh karena itu, Presiden mendorong pebisnis ASEAN yang tergabung dalam ASEAN Business Advisory Council [BAC] untuk berperan lebih besar dalam perumusan dan pengimplementasian strategi taktis kolaborasi lintas pemangku kepentingan tersebut.
“Ini sangat penting. Saya juga berharap konsep ASEAN Incorporated yang tadi disampaikan oleh Pak Arsjad [Arsjad Rasjid – Ketua ASEAN BAC], yang diperkenalkan oleh ASEAN BAC, mampu menjadi jembatan komunikasi untuk menciptakan ekosistem yang saling menguntungkan, sehingga mampu memperkuat daya saing ASEAN dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan ASEAN,” ujarnya.
Menurut Jokowi, ASEAN memiliki potensi pertumbuhan ekonomi yang besar. Pertumbuhan ekonomi ASEAN di 2024 diperkirakan tertinggi di dunia, mencapai 4,5 persen [year on year].
Selain itu, ASEAN juga menjadi kawasan paling menarik bagi penanaman modal asing atau foreign direct investment FDI. Presiden mengungkapkan, di tahun 2022 tercatat 17 persen FDI masuk ke ASEAN, tertinggi dibanding kawasan-kawasan berkembang lainnya.
"ASEAN telah membuktikan diri sebagai kawasan yang damai, sebagai kawasan yang stabil, sebagai kawasan yang tumbuh sejahtera," ucap Jokowi.
ASEAN juga sedang menikmati bonus demografi dengan angkatan kerja ketiga terbesar di dunia. Presiden mengatakan, sebanyak 65% populasi di ASEAN berpotensi menjadi kelas menengah di tahun 2030.

Jakarta [B2B] - Indonesian President Joko Widodo [Jokowi] emphasized that ASEAN needs an extraordinary tactical strategy to face today´s global challenges while realizing ASEAN as the center of growth or the epicentrum of growth.
This was conveyed by the President when opening the 2023 ASEAN Business Investment Summit, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday [1/9].
"In the midst of world conditions that are not doing well, ASEAN´s strategy can´t just be mediocre, it can´t. ASEAN needs an extraordinary tactical strategy, so the strategy is not a grand strategy, but an extraordinary tactical strategy," said the President.
In implementing this tactical strategy, solid cooperation between countries, between businesses and between communities in the region is needed. Therefore, the President encouraged ASEAN businesspeople who are members of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (BAC) to play a bigger role in the formulation and implementation of this cross-stakeholder tactical collaboration strategy.
“This is very important. I also hope that the ASEAN Incorporated concept that was conveyed by Mr. Arsjad [Arsjad Rasjid – Chair of the ASEAN BAC], which was introduced by the ASEAN BAC, is able to become a bridge of communication to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem, so as to strengthen ASEAN´s competitiveness and improve ASEAN´s welfare," he said.
According to the President, ASEAN has great potential for economic growth. ASEAN economic growth in 2024 is estimated to be the highest in the world, reaching 4.5 percent [year on year].
Apart from that, ASEAN is also the most attractive region for foreign direct investment or FDI. The President revealed that in 2022, 17 percent of FDI will enter ASEAN, the highest compared to other developing regions.
"ASEAN has proven itself as a peaceful region, as a stable region, as a region that is growing in prosperity," said the Head of State.
ASEAN is also enjoying a demographic bonus with the third largest workforce in the world. The President said that as much as 65 percent of the population in ASEAN has the potential to become middle class by 2030.
"All of this is ASEAN´s big capital to achieve its goal of becoming the epicenter of growth," he stressed
