Jakarta (B2B) - Presiden Joko Widodo Selasa siang ini bertemu dengan Gubernur Bank Indonesia Agus Martowardojo untuk membahas sinkronisasi kebijakan antara pemerintah dan bank sentral, salah satunya soal fluktuasi rupiah.
"Ini adalah koordinasi formal pertama antara Presiden dengan Gubernur Bank Indonesia terkait situasi rupiah, sinkronisasi kebijakan moneter dan fiskal antara pemerintah dengan BI," kata Sekretaris Kabinet Andi Widjajanto di Istana Presiden, Selasa.
Pertemuan berlangsung di Kantor Presiden Jakarta pada Senin siang menyikapi dalam beberapa pekan terakhir, nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar Amerika Serikat turun, demikian juga terhadap sejumlah mata uang negara lainnya.
Presiden Joko Widodo berulang kali mengatakan fundamental ekonomi nasional kuat dan fluktuasi nilai mata uang hendaknya dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan daya saing ekspor produk Indonesia. (Ant)
Jakarta (B2B) - The Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo met here on Tuesday to discuss the synchronization of policy between the government and the central bank.
"This is the first formal coordination meeting between the president and BI governor to discuss the situation of the rupiah, synchronization of the monetary policy and fiscal between the government and the central bank," Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto stated at the Presidential Palace complex here on Tuesday.
He noted that during the past few weeks, the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar has declined.
President Jokowi had emphasized on numerous earlier occasions that the foundation of the national economy was strong enough, so the fluctuation in the rupiah should serve as an opportunity to boost the competitiveness of Indonesian export products.
