Jakarta (B2B) - Aburizal Bakrie alias Ical is doubted to compete as presidential candidates in General Election 2014 based on the result of newest survey by Indonesian Survey Institute. The survey is on potential figures which have personal quality by involving opinion leader and not common people as previous surveys did.
Executive Director of LSI, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, says that the newest survey involves 223 respondents which are opinion leaders. 178 people are published as respondents or estimators. Each public figure is assessed based on measurement of personal quality, the score is between 1-100.
“Certainly it is more difficult to win opinion leaders’ hearts who have better political information than common people who do not have better choices as the previous ones do. In the context of this survey, it is rather difficult for public figure such as Ical to get elected,” says Burhanuddin in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/11).
He says that LSI divides the survey into two stages, the first stage is elite survey of opinion leaders in January-May 2012 using apple-to-apple method, meaning that all respondents know the names of public figures surveyed.
The respondents were 223 people with doctoral degree or who were sources for mass media, national entrepreneurs, and military retirees (at least three star military rank).
The second stage was conducted nationally from February-October 2012 with 1,216 people as samples.
