Jakarta (B2B) - Produsen susu olahan di Indonesia memperkirakan akan kekurangan bahan baku menyusul penurunan produksi susu segar yang digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri pengolahan.
Ketua Dewan Persusuan Nasional (DPN), Teguh Boediyana, mengatakan produksi susu segar domestik tahun ini berpotensi turun 10%-15% dibanding tahun lalu.
Menurut Teguh, penurunan produksi susu segar disebabkan peternak cenderung menjual sapi dalam bentuk daging, dengan nilai jual lebih tinggi daripada diternakkan sebagai sapi perah untuk memproduksi susu.
"Harga daging sapi naik signifikan, sapi perah peternak dijual untuk dipotong," kata Teguh.

Chairman of the National Dairy Council (DPN) Teguh Boediyana said domestic fresh milk production may decline upj to 15 percent from last year.
Teguh said the decline of fresh milk production is in line with the tendency of cattle breeders to sell beef, with the assumption that beef has higher selling value compared to milk.
“This is due to the significant surge in beef price,” he said.
