Jakarta (B2B) - Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono melakukan pertemuan informal dengan Tim Rekonsiliasi Suni-Syiah di Kabupaten Sampang pada awal kunjungan kerjanya di Madura pada Rabu siang.

Presiden bertemu dengan Tim Rekonsiliasi Suni-Syiah yang diketuai oleh Abd A´la antara lain bersama Menteri Koordinator Politik Hukum dan Keamanan Djoko Suyanto, Menteri Koordinator Kesejahteraan Rakyat Agung Laksono, Menteri Agama Suryadharma Ali.

Menteri Dalam Negeri Gamawan Fauzi, Menteri Sekretaris Negara Sudi Silalahi, Menteri BUMN Dahlan Iskan, Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan M Nuh, Kapolri Sutarman dan Panglima TNI Moeldoko juga hadir dalam pertemuan tersebut, seperti dilansir presidenri.go.id.

Juru Bicara Presiden Julian Aldrin Pasha mengatakan Presiden melakukan pertemuan itu untuk mengetahui secara langsung perkembangan upaya rekonsiliasi yang tengah dilakukan.

Presiden dan jajarannya, menurut dia, terus berupaya menyelesaikan konflik antara penganut ajaran Suni-Syiah di Sampang.

"Dalam hal ini pemerintah terus mencari upaya yang paling tepat penyelesaian konflik di Sampang, mudah-mudahan masyarakat Madura mendapatkan pemahaman yang sama," katanya.

The informal meeting with the reconciliation team, led by Abd Ala, was the first meeting of the president on his two-day working visit to the island.
The president was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Political, Security and Legal Affairs Djoko Susilo, Coordinating Minister for Peoples Welfare Agung Laksono, Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali.

Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan, Education and Culture Minister M. Nuh, National Police chief General Sutarman and the chief of the defense forces (TNI), General Moeldoko.

The president also held a lunch meeting with Islamic clerics and the community leaders of Sampang.

Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said the President, at the meeting, had been keen to know how the reconciliation process is progressing.

He pointed out that the President and other officials continue to make efforts to resolve the friction between Sunni and Shiite followers in Sampang.

"The government continues to seek a proper solution to end the conflict. Hopefully, the Madurese people share that view," he added.
