Jakarta (B2B) - Presiden Joko Widodo menyatakan kesiapan Pemeritah RI untuk membantu Nepal mengatasi masalah yang muncul paska terjadinya bencana itu.

“Indonesia sedang menyiapkan pengiriman tim SAR, tim media, dan bantuan medis untuk membantu bencana gempa di Nepal,” kata Presiden Jokowi kepada wartawan di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Minggu (26/4) malam.

Gempa berkekuatan 7,9 SR mengguncang Nepal pada Sabtu tengah hari (25/4) terjadi saat jam sibuk kerja. Akibatnya, banyak korban terjebak dalam reruntuhan bangunan yang ambruk setelah gempa bumi yang menghancurkan lembah Kathmandu yang padat penduduk.
Gempa yang berpusat sekitar 80 km timur kota Pokhara (kota kedua terbesar di negara itu) sangat merusak dan tergolong dangkal.
