Jakarta (B2B) - President Director Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Ito Warsito targets 30 companies will list as new issuers by 2014.
IDX’s 2014-target is set using several 2014 economic indicator assumptions including Indonesia’s economic growth of 6.5 percent; inflation rate of 4.50-5.50 percent, Treasury State System (SPN)’s three-month interest rate of 6.50 percent; deposit interest of 6.50 percent and rupiah exchange rate at Rp 10,500 per US dollar.
"Next year Indonesia’s capital markets face much greater challenge than this year, since by 2014 political activities start to heat up as General Election is approaching," Ito Warsito said in Jakarta.
With those macro assumptions, Warsito said, IDX aims 30 companies to hold initial public offering (IPO). The figure is similar to 2013’s target; however, as of now there were only 25 companies which held IPO and eight companies were included in pipeline.
IDX also targets 60 issuers, he said, to hold rights issue and bonus shares; 57 companies to issue corporate bonds worth Rp 57 trillion (US$ 5.12 billion) and to list 65 series of the government bonds.
“Next year risk is quite high as it enters general election year and many companies are waiting for and seeing the market conditions. But we are optimistic those targets will be met,” Warsito said.
