Jakarta (B2B) - Bank Indonesia (BI)  menilai deflasi April 2014 yang menurut Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) sebesar 0,02% secara umum masih sesuai dengan ekspektasi.

"Secara umum sesuai ekpekstasi bahwa ada deflasi di bulan April karena ini memang masa panen," kata Deputi Gubernur Senior Bank Indonesia (BI) Mirza Adityaswara di Jakarta, Jumat.

Mirza mengatakan kendati masa panen menyumbang deflasi April namun ada faktor lain yang harus perhatikan yakni potensi pengaruh El Nino terhadap produksi pangan.

"Jadi akhir tahun ini kami masih perkirakan inflasi di sekitaran lima persen," kata Mirza.

Sementara inflasi tahun kalender Januari-April 2014 tercatat 1,39% dan inflasi secara tahunan (yoy) mencapai 7,25%.

Jakarta (B2B) - Bank Indonesia stated that  the 0.02 percent deflation in April 2014 announced by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) was in line with expectation of the central bank.

"Deflation has been predicted with the harvest time," Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Mirza Adityaswara said here on Friday.

Mirza said in the past four months only in January inflation was higher than expected , adding in February, March and April , inflation were almost in line with expectation.

"Inflation in the whole of this year is estimated to be around 5 percent," he said.

In the first four months inflation was 1.39 percent and year-on-year, the countrys inflation in April was 7.25 percent.
