Malang (B2B) - Mesin anjungan tunai mandiri (ATM) Bank Mandiri di Jalan Kertanegara, Kecamatan Karangploso, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur, meledak pada Kamis dini hari (9/1).
"Ledakan terjadi sekitar pukul 02.30 dini hari tadi dan lokasi ledakan saat ini sudah diamankan oleh puluhan personel dari kepolisian maupun TNI," kata Kepala Kepolisian Resor Malang, Ajun Komisaris Besar Polisi (AKBP) Adi Deriyan Jayamarta.
Bilik mesin ATM itu luluh lantak, kaca bilik berhamburan hingga sekitar 20 meter dari lokasi, dan sebagian serpihan kacanya memenuhi ruko dan sebuah rumah makan yang ada tidak jauh dari lokasi.
Ia mengatakan, sampai sekarang polisi masih menyelidiki penyebab ledakan tersebut. Polisi antara lain sudah meminta keterangan dari empat orang saksi.
Kepolisian juga mengerahkan puluhan personel untuk menyisir lokasi ledakan hingga radius sekitar 20 meter di kawasan pertokoan dan rumah makan serta area persawahan yang radiusnya mencapai 50 meter.
"Memang ada empat sidik jari, tapi belum ditemukan adanya tanda-tanda yang mengarah pada bahan peledaknya," kata seorang polisi yang menyisir lokasi ATM tersebut.
"Kami hanya menyisir dan menandai sidik jari tersebut dan untuk penanganan lebih lanjut akan ditangani oleh Polda Jatim," ujarnya.
Namun polisi belum menemukan benda yang kemungkinan menjadi penyebab ledakan.
Penyelidikan di lokasi ledakan dilakukan oleh tim Gegana dan Pusat Laboratorium Forensik Kepolisian Daerah Jawa Timur.
Malang (B2B) - An Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is reported to have been blown up in Malang, East Java, early on Thursday morning.
"The explosion occurred at around 2:30 in the morning; the explosion site is now secured by a number of police and army officers," stated Malang Police Chief Adjunct Police Commissioner Adi Deriyan Jayamarta, here on Thursday.
Due to the heavy explosion, the ATM booth was completely destroyed and glass from the booth was scattered about 20 meters away from the machine. Though the booths glass was destroyed, the ATM machine remained intact.
Four witnesses who were on the location are now being questioned by the police; however, the cause of the explosion is unknown and still under investigation.
Dozens of police personnel were deployed to sweep the explosion site within a radius of approximately 20 meters of the shopping and restaurant area as well as the rice fields nearby located within 50 meter radius.
"There are four sets of fingerprints found near the bottom left of the ATM, but we have not found any signs that lead to the explosives," stated one of the policemen on duty.
Investigations at the site of the explosion are being carried out by the bomb squad, Gegana, and East Java Police Forensic Laboratory.
Crime scene reconstruction is also being conducted now in order to determine the cause of the explosion, the surrounding road is now temporarily closed.
