Jakarta (B2B) - Perum Badan Urusan Logistik (Bulog) memperkirakan mampu menyerap beras petani tahun depan sekitar 3,2 juta ton sehingga tidak perlu mengimpor beras, seiring dengan target produksi padi 2015 mencapai 73 juta ton gabah kering giling (GKG) yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Pertanian RI.
"Saya perkirakan Bulog tidak perlu mengimpor beras tahun depan, dan kita optimistis karena impor dipicu oleh produksi, harga dan pasokan. Kementerian Pertanian RI memperkirakan produksi padi tahun depan sekitar 73 juta ton gabah kering giling," kata Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Direktur Utama Perum Bulog. Budi Purwanto kepada pers di Jakarta, Senin.
Dia menambahkan, Bulog menargetkan penyerapan beras petani tahun ini sebanyak 3 juta ton namun hingga akhir 2014 ternyata Bulog hanya mampu menyerap 2,5 juta ton. Sementara stok Bulog saat ini sekitar 1,8 juta ton, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan Indonesia maksimal delapan bulan ke depan.
"Serapan beras Bulog belum mencapai target karena produksi turun dan naik, selain itu petani juga diberi kebebasan menjual ke Bulog atau melepas ke pasar," kata Budi.
Terkait pengendalian harga beras, Bulog mendapat penugasan untuk melakukan operasi pasar khusus atau OPK cadangan beras pemerintah dengan menyuplai 230 ribu ton.

He added, Bulog aims to buy rice the farmers this year to 3 million tons by the end of 2014 but was only able buy 2.5 million tonnes. While the stock is currently about 1.8 million tonnes, to meet the food needs of Indonesian people for the next eight months.
"Procurement Bulog rice has not reached the target for production down and up, besides the farmers are free to sell to Bulog or to the market," Purwanto said.
Related to control of rice prices, Bulog has a mission to market operation about 230 thousand tons.
