Jakarta (B2B) - State Financial and Monetary Analysis Director National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Sidqy LP Suyitno stated estimates inflation pressure by the end of 2013 will be lower than the government’s previous estimation at 9.2 percent.
"This is due to the postponement of stimulus tapering by US Central Bank by September; hence, it is likely that rupiah exchange rate will strengthen against US dollar," Suyitno said.
According to him, impacts from The Fed’s stimulus tapering postponement is predicted to strengthen rupiah exchange rate against US dollar; thus, inflation which was resulted from increased prices of imported goods (imported inflation) this year is predicted to plummet as well.
