Jakarta (B2B) - Pemerintah menyesalkan peristiwa kekerasan seksual yang menimpa murid Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) di Jakarta International School (JIS) dan tidak menutup kemungkinan pemberian sanksi kepada pihak-pihak yang lalai.
"Saya sedih dan menyesalkan betul. Sangat disayangkan betul, di sekolah bertaraf internasional ada kejadian menyedihkan dan memalukan," kata Mendikbud Muhammad Nuh di Kompleks Istana Presiden, Jakarta, Rabu, seusai menghadiri peringatan Hari Kepedulian Austisme Sedunia.
Ia mengatakan, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan telah membentuk tim untuk menangani kasus sodomi terhadap siswa TK tersebut.
"Tim kita akan melihat lebih detil duduk perkaranya seperti apa dan berkoordinasi dengan kepolisian, aspek kriminalnya oleh polisi, pendidikannya di kementerian," katanya.
Ia tidak menutup kemungkinan penjatuhan sanksi pada pihak-pihak yang lalai mengingat peristiwa tersebut diduga terjadi di lingkungan sekolah.
Menurut Mendikbud, kelalaian dalam bentuk apapun, dari paling ringan hingga berat, tentunya akan mendapatkan sanksi.
"Paling lama satu bulan untuk merumuskan tingkat kesalahan, kecerobohan, kelalaian, tentu ada sanksi," katanya seraya menekankan tanggung jawab guru, kepala sekolah dan pihak yayasan.
Pada kesempatan itu, Mendikbud mengatakan terjadinya peristiwa tersebut di sekolah bertaraf internasional memberikan pukulan telak pada dunia pendidikan seakan-akan dunia pendidikan di Indonesia tidak aman karena bahkan sebuah sekolah mahal tetap tidak mampu melindungi muridnya.
Untuk itu, tambah dia, pihaknya berencana untuk mengundang para kepala sekolah dan yayasan penyelenggara sekolah-sekolah internasional untuk mencegah kejadian serupa terulang. Ia juga mengatakan korban akan memperoleh penanganan khusus untuk menghindari trauma.
Sementara itu, penyidik Polda Metro Jaya telah menetapkan dua tersangka pelaku kekerasan seksual terhadap murid JIS berinisial AK (6). Pengacara korban, Andi M Asrun, menyebutkan ada kemungkinan jumlah korban akan bertambah.
Jakarta (B2B) - Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh said the molestation case involving a kindergarten pupil of the Jakarta International School (JIS) was deplorable and could invite sanctions against the school.
"I am deeply sad and deplore this sad and embarrassing case in an international school," Minister Nuh said at the State Palace after attended the Worlds Autism Day commemoration in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Nuh added that the Ministry of Education and Culture had formed a team to investigate and handle the sodomy case, which involved a kindergarten pupil of the JIS.
"Our team will investigate the case and coordinate with the police force. The criminal aspect will be handled by the police, while the educational aspect by our ministry," he explained.
Minister Nuh stressed that there is a possibility of passing sanctions on those who were careless in protecting the pupils, as the incident had occurred within the school premises.
" We will take no more than a month to identify those who were at fault, careless, or not diligent in doing their duties, and of course there will be a sanction for it," he said.
"We will also assist the victim to acquire special treatment to heal the trauma," Nuh added.
Nuh also underlined the responsibility of the teachers, the principal and the foundation related to the case.
The molestation case at JIS, Nuh added, had tarnished the education sector as it occurred in a school with international standard of education, which caused Indonesias education sector to be seen as unsafe as even a reputed school could not protect its students.
Therefore, Nuh said the Ministry of Education and Culture will invite all international schools principals and foundation trustees for a briefing to prevent such an incident from occurring again.
Early this week, the public was shocked by the news of a molestation case in an international school in Jakarta, which involved a kindergarten pupil. The victims parent, with initials of TPW, said the incident occurred long before they raised it on the media.
"It was because the school was not being open and helpful during the investigation process," TPW said.
The police force had stated that there were two suspects who worked as janitors at JIS. The two suspects face Article 292 of the Criminal Law and Article 82 of the Child Protection Law.
According to the police forces spokesperson Senior Commissioner Rikwanto, the police force was still investigating the two suspects as there are allegations of other suspects.
