Jakarta (B2B) - Indonesia harus menjadi destinasi wisata belanja sehingga dapat menyelamatkan devisa negara, dengan mengembangkan destinasi wisata belanja yang mampu bersaing dengan pengelola pusat belanja di mancanegara khususnya di kawasan Asia Tenggara.

"Kita harus mengubah pola pikir warga Indonesia yang lebih bangga ke belanja ke luar negeri daripada belanja di negeri sendiri," kata Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pengelola Pusat Belanja Indonesia (APPBI), Handaka Santosa usai pembukaan seminar Council of Asian Shopping Centre (CASC) Conference 2014 di Jakarta, Kamis.

Dia menambahkan, konferensi internasional bertema ´Asian Mall: Tomorrow´s Retail Development Today´ bertujuan menciptakan kerjasama yang baik dan komunikasi antarpusat perbelanjaan di Asia khususnya Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Jepang dan Taiwan.

Handaka menambahkan, eksistensi pusat perbelanjaan di Indonesia saat ini berjalan sangat pesat sejalan dengan perkembangan perekonomian di Indonesia, dengan daya serap ribuan tenaga kerja sehingga kebutuhan sumber daya manusia andal di bidang pusat perbelanjaan sangat dibutuhkan dan perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut.

"Melalui konferensi ini, APPBI berharap dapat berbagi pengetahuan, memperluas jaringan bersama para pakar, pengusaha, dan pelaku industri di seluruh Asia serta organisasi perdagangan di seluruh dunia melihat masalah nyata di pasar yang semakin kompetitif," kata Handaka.

He added, the conference theme of ´Asian Mall: Tomorrow´s Retail Development Today´ aims to create good cooperation and communication between shopping centers in Asia especially Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan.

Santosa said, shopping malls in Indonesia as the economic hub continues to grow, employing thousands of people, and the future will demand a reliable human resources to support the Indonesian economy.

"Through this conference, APPBI hope to share experiences, network with experts, employers, and trade organizations throughout the world to recognize the increasingly competitive market," he said.
