Tangerang (B2B) - Maskapai penerbangan nasional, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. mencatat penurunan laba bersih (income for the period) secara tajam sebesar 89,89% dari US$110,8 juta pada 2012 menjadi US$11,2 juta  selama 2013.

Sementara itu, laba operasi (operating income) mengalami penurunan sebesar 66,4% menjadi US$56,4 juta dibanding 2012 yang tercatat mencapai US$168,1 juta.

"Kinerja keuangan Garuda Indonesia pada tahun 2013 dipengaruhi oleh melemahnya nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar AS dan faktor tingginya harga bahan bakar," kata Direktur Utama Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar dalam keterangan pers di kantor Garuda Indonesia, Tangerang, Senin.

Emir menambahkan selain faktor tersebut, pada 2013 Garuda juga melakukan investasi dalam jumlah besar berupa penambahan armada untuk menunjang peningkatan operasional dan proses pengembangan Citilink sebagai Low Cost Carrier (LCC) yang beroperasi secara mandiri.

"Dalam dolar AS agak melenceng karena pendapatan kita itu kan kalau dalam dolar AS, mengalami depresiasi terhadap rupiah. Sehingga kita ikut terdampak. Kalau (pendapatan) dalam rupiah saya rasa cukup bagus," tambah Emir.

"Biaya operasional Garuda Indonesia 60 persen menggunakan dolar AS dan 40 persen rupiah sementara pendapatan 50 persen dari dolar AS dan 50 persen rupiah," tambahnya.

Garuda Indonesia harus menanggung beban operasi sebesar US$3,71 miliar pada 2013 dibanding tahun sebelumnya tercatat US$3,29 miliar.

Garuda Indonesia merogoh kocek senilai US$1,42 miliar untuk bahan bakar pada 2013 dari US$1,25 miliar pada 2012, yang merupakan beban operasional terbesar bila dibandingkan biaya sewa pesawat, asuransi, gaji pegawai, dan lainnya.

Jakarta (B2B) - Publicly listed PT Garuda Indonesias net profit dropped sharply by 89.89 percent to US$11.2 million in 2013 from US$110.8 million in 2012.

Its operating profit meanwhile dropped by 66.4 percent to US$56.4 million from US$168.1 million in 2012.

"Garuda Indonesias financial performance in 2013 was affected by rupiah depreciation and high fuel price," Garuda`s president director Emirsyah Satar said at a press conference here on Monday.

He said besides the two factors Garuda had also invested heavily in the year to increase the number of its fleet to support the development of its subsidiary, Citilink, as a low cost carrier.

"In the US dollar the companys income was a bit different. Our income is in the US dollar while the rupiah has so far depreciated and so we have been affected by it. However in the rupiah term our income is quite good," he said.

"Sixty percent of Garuda Indonesias operating cost is in the US dollar while the rest 40 percent in the rupiah. Fifty percent of its income meanwhile is in the US dollar and 50 percent others in the rupiah," he said.

Emirsyah said Garuda Indonesia bore US$3.71 billion in operating cost in 2013, up from US$3.29 billion in the previous year.

Garuda meanwhile spent US$1.42 billion for fuel in 2013 which was up from US$1.25 billion in 2012 and the biggest operational cost compared to cost for airplane leasing, insurance, employees salaries and others.
