Jakarta (B2B) - Sekitar 29 peserta dari berbagai lembaga pemerintah dan perguruan tinggi mengikuti pelatihan dan workshop Pemanfaatan Data Satelit Jepang, yang diselenggarakan oleh Lembaga Penerbangan dan Antariksa Nasional (Lapan) bersama Japan Aerospace Explorating Agency (JAXA). Tujuan pelatihan meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemampuan, dan keterampilan para peneliti dan perekayasa Indonesia dalam mengolah dan menganalisis data satelit radar, ALOS PALSAR-2.
Hadir pakar satelit dari Jepang, Dr Masahito Honzawa yang menjabat Secretariat Sentinel Asia and Makoto Ono Advisory Scientist Solution Service Departemen Restec (Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan) untuk memberikan pemanfaatan seputar ALOS-2 Satellite Data User.
Kepala Pusat Pemanfaatan Penginderaan Jauh Lapan, Dr Rokhis Khomaruddin mengatakan pelatihan bertujuan memperdalam metode pengolahan data satelit radar yang dapat digunakan untuk mendukung program nasional pemerintah saat ini, seperti ketahanan pangan, kemaritiman, perubahan iklim, dan mitigasi bencana.
Menurutnya, kehadiran pakar dari Jepang dapat memberi solusi terhadap letak geografis Indonesia di daerah tropis, yang dipengaruhi kondisi tutupan awan tinggi. Data satelit sendiri merupakan solusi mengatasi permasalahan pemantauan dan mampu mendukung pemetaan biomassa untuk penghitungan emisi karbon, pemantauan pertumbuhan tanaman pertanian atau perkebunan, deteksi kapal penangkap ikan ilegal, dan mitigasi bencana alam seperti banjir, longsor, penurunan level tanah, dan gunung api.
Selain peserta dari Lapan, pelatihan diikuti pula oleh pejabat dan pakar terkait dari Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan, Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat, Kementerian Pertanian, Kementerian ESDM, Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT), Badan Informasi Geopasial, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Pertanian Bogor, dan Universitas Udayana Bali.
Dalam pelatihan tersebut, peserta mempelajari Theory of SAR and ALOS-2 Data Handling, Land Cover Classification with SAR Data, Orthorectification, Slope Correction, Orthorectification and Slope Correction with Prism DEM, serta pemanfaatan SAR untuk bencana alam dan pertanian.

The aim of training increases the knowledge, abilities, and skills of researchers and engineers Indonesia to processing and analyzing radar satellite data, ALOS PALSAR-2.
The speaker of Japanese satellite expert, Dr. Masahito Honzawa who served Secretariat Sentinel Asia and Makoto Ono Advisory Scientist Solution Service Department Restec (Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan) to give about the use of ALOS-2 Satellite Data Users.
Head Utilization of Remote Sensing Lapan, Dr. Rokhis Khomaruddin said the training aims to deepen the radar satellite data processing methods to support government programs such as food security, maritime, climate change and natural disaster mitigation.
According to him, the presence of experts from Japan to give a solution to the geographical location of Indonesia in the tropics, which is influenced by cloud cover. Satellite data can resolve the problem of monitoring and supporting the mapping of biomass-related carbon emissions, agricultural or plantation monitoring, detecting illegal fishing, and natural disaster mitigation.
Addition to participants of Lapan, attended relevant officials and experts of the Indonesian Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry, the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology, Geopatial Information Agency, Institute of Technology Bandung, Bogor Agricultural Institute , and the University of Udayana.
In the training, participants learn the Theory of SAR and ALOS-2 Data Handling, Land Cover Classification with SAR data, orthorectification, Slope Correction, Orthorectification and Slope Correction with Prism DEM, and use of SAR to agriculture and natural disasters.
