Jakarta (B2B) - Kebakaran memusnahkan 41 rumah di kompleks perumahan polisi (Polri) di Kramat Jati, Jakarta Timur, Kamis, diduga disebabkan oleh korsleting listrik.
Camat Kramat Jati Wahyudi mengatakan api berasal dari rumah warga. "Rumah milik Supomo kosong ketika api mulai menyala," katanya.
Seorang ketua RT, Sutomo mengatakan tetangga dipaksa masuk ke rumah Supomo untuk memadamkan api, tapi terlambat dan api telah menyebar ke rumah-rumah lain di sekitarnya.
Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran Jakarta Timur mengerahkan sekitar 26 mobil pemadam kebakaran untuk memadamkan api.
Warga yang rumahnya terbakar telah dievakuasi ke balai warga dan masjid. Korban sampai saat ini belum diketahui.

A neighborhood leader, Sutomo, said the neighbors were forced to break into Supomo's house to extinguish the blaze, but it was too late and the fire had spread to other houses around Supomo's.
The East Jakarta Fire Fighter Agency deployed around 26 fire trucks to extinguish the fire.
Residents whose houses were burned down have been evacuated to a community hall and mosques.
Casualties currently remain unclear.
