Jakarta (B2B) - Kenaikan suku bunga acuan Bank Indonesia (BI Rate) sebesar 50 basis poin menjadi 7% akan menahan laju pertumbuhan kredit karena permintaan kredit diestimasi turun. Kenaikan BI Rate ini juga sesuai dengan ekspektasi pasar.
Presiden Direktur PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, Jahja Setiaatmadja menilai kenaikan BI Rate sesuai dengan ekspektasi pasar.
"Ekonomi memang harus diperlambat, jangan terlalu panas. Jadi wajar kalau BI Rate dinaikkan," ungkap Jahja di Jakarta.
Kenaikan BI Rate akan mendorong bank mengerem ekspansi kredit sehingga mengendurkan laju pertumbuhan ekonomi.

President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, Jahja Setiaatmadja assesses the BI Rate in accordance with the market expectation.
"The economy must be slowed, do not make it intense. So it is proper to rise the BI rate," Setiaatmadja said.
The increase in the BI rate will encourage banks to loosen credit expansion rate thus the economic growth become slowly.
