245 Local Regulations Ignore Land Protection Law

Jakarta (B2B) - Undang-undang Perlindungan Lahan belum terlaksana secara maksimal seperti yang diharapkan, karena pelaksananya adalah pemerintah daerah. Sementara penduduk Indonesia terus bertambah sehingga tidaklah pantas apabila negara lain yang luasnya lebih kecil dari Indonesia malahan mampu surplus beras, seperti Thailand.
"Saat ini sudah ada 245 peraturan daerah tetapi lebih banyak daerah yang melanggarnya berdalih demi kepentingan daerah padahal dikenal sebagai sentra pangan," kata Menteri Pertanian Suswono dalam rapat kerja dengan Komisi IV DPR di Jakarta, Senin (21/10).
Suswono merujuk pada Thailand sebagai negara yang surplus beras meskipun luas wilayahnya lebih kecil dari Indonesia. Thailand misalnya, memiliki luas panen 9 juta hektar sedangkan Indonesia 13 juta hektar. Meski 1,5 kali lebih luas, tetapi jumlah penduduk Indonesia empat kali lebih besar ketimbang Thailand.
"Meskipun, produktivitas padi nasional juga lebih tinggi sebesar 5,2 ton per ha per tahun dibanding Thailand 5 ton per ha per tahun, surplus beras di Indonesia tidak bisa sebesar Thailand," ungkap Suswono.
Jakarta (B2B) - Land Protection Law has not been implemented to the fullest as expected, because the local governments is implementer. While Indonesia´s population continues to grow so that it is inappropriate when other countries are vast territory smaller than Indonesia but were able surpluses rice, such as Thailand.
"Now there are 245 local regulations, but more areas that violate by reason in the interest of local governments, but is known as a center for food," Minister of Agriculture (MoA) Suswono in a work meeting with House Commission IV in Jakarta, Monday (21/10).
Suswono refers to Thailand as a rice surpluses countries though its area is smaller than Indonesia. Thailand, for example, has an area of ��9 million hectares of harvest, while Indonesia reached 13 million hectares. Although the land is 1.5 wider, but the Indonesian population quadrupled the population of Thailand.
"Although, the national rice productivity was also higher by 5.2 tonnes per ha per year compared to Thailand 5 tonnes per ha per year, surpluses of rice in Indonesia is not be able compete with Thailand," said Suswono.
