Jakarta (B2B) - Sekitar 115 dari 148 anggota Fraksi Partai Demokrat di DPR menyatakan dukungannya pada Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa sebagai calon presiden dan wakil presiden.
"Kami dukung pasangan ini karena visi dan misi mereka paling sejalan dengan platform partai," kata Ketua Fraksi Demokrat Nurhayati Ali Asegaf dalam deklarasi dukungan di Hotel Crowne Plaza, Senin.
Nurhayati mengklaim dukungan terhadap Prabowo-Hatta sudah disetujui oleh hampir seluruh anggota fraksi. Di DPR, Fraksi Demokrat memiliki 148 anggota. "Kami bersepaham dan bersepakat bulat mendukung Prabowo-Hatta," ujarnya.
Menurut Nurhayati, dukungan terhadap pasangan nomor urut 1 ini merupakan inisiatif masing-masing anggota fraksi. Nurhayati menolak menyebut dukungan terhadap Prabowo sebagai sikap resmi partai. "Ini merupakan hak personal kami untuk memilih dan dipilih."
Dukungan pada Prabowo-Hatta, kata Nurhayati, merupakan respon fraksi atas penyampaian visi dan misi partai di hadapan pengurus dan Fraksi Demokrat di Hotel Sahid, 20 Mei lalu. Fraksi menilai mayoritas program dalam visi dan misi Prabowo-Hatta sesuai dengan program yang sudah dijalankan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Ketua Umum Demokrat.
Sementara Partai Demokrat secara resmi menyatakan netral alias tak mendukung Prabowo ataupun Joko Widodo. Namun sejumlah elitenya, seperti Marzuki Ali dan Pramono Edhi Wibowo, mendukung Prabowo.
Prabowo datang ke lokasi deklarasi sekitar pukul 10.10 WIB. Prabowo didampingi sejumlah tokoh pendukung partai, seperti Ketua Dewan Pertimbangan Golkar Akbar Tandjung, Bendahara Umum Golkar Setya Novanto, Ketua Golkar Priyo Budi Santoso, dan Wakil Ketua Umum Gerindra Fadli Zon.
Jakarta (B2B) - Most or 115 of 148 legislators of the ruling Democratic Party have expressed their support for presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa.
"This (the support) did not come suddenly. They have voiced their support since May 20 after hearing the visions and mission of Prabowo and Hatta," Nurhayati Assegaf, the chairwoman if the ruling party faction at the House of Representative, said here on Monday.
A number of 115 legislator have confirmed to attend a "declaration of support", Nurhayati said.
"Democrat faction has 148 members and 115 have confirmed, but other that could not attend do not mean that they do not agree with the declaration," she said.
The declaration of support is on individual accord and initiative, she said, adding they do not represent the party.
The reasons for the support for Prabowo-Hatta, was that Prabowo Subianto is the right statesman to replace President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is the chairman of the ruling party.
Yudhoyono could no longer contest the presidency in the election on July 9 after his two terms
Prabowo-Hatta would be able to continue the pro-people economic program of present government to bring prosperity to the nation, Nurhayati said.
The ruling party declared neutrality in the election but allowed its members to voted for either contenders in the presidential election.
The majority of the party leaders have expressed support for Prabowo, who is the founder of Gerindra which has support for a number of other parties in a coalition.
Some of the leaders of the ruling party such as minister for state companies Dahlan Iskan and governors also gave their support for rival presidential hopeful Joko Widodo and his running mate Jusuf Kalla.
