Jakarta (B2B) - Oesman Sapta Odang diutus oleh Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD RI) sebagai wakil DPD RI untuk menjadi pimpinan MPR RI periode 2014-2019. Dalam voting yang dilakukan tersebut, Oesman Sapta yang merupakan anggota DPD RI dari Kalimantan Barat memperoleh 67 suara dari 122 suara.
"Dalam sidang paripurna MPR, akan kita bawa satu nama untuk mewakili DPR RI adalah Oesman Sapta," kata Pimpinan rapat paripurna DPR, Bambang Sadono usai penghitungan suara, di Gedung DPD RI, Jakarta, Senin.
"Kita akan prioritaskan agar Oesman Sapta adalah pimpinan MPR RI," tambah Bambang.
Menanggapi kemenangannya, Oesman Sapta, mengaku dirinya sudah siap berada di MPR RI.
"Memang, sebelumnya, saya sudah siap di MPR, tapi dalam perjuangan, ada tahapan-tahapannya," kata Oesman usai voting.
Dirinya juga tak muluk-muluk dan akan menjalankan program yang sudah ditetapkan oleh DPD RI.
"Sudah ada program DPD, saya tidak mau muluk-muluk dan program DPD yang akan saya bawa," katanya.
Dia juga menegaskan, baik Koalisi Indonesia Hebat maupun Koalisi Merah Putih bisa menerima kehadiran wakil DPD tersebut.
"Tidak ada penolakan dari kedua belah pihak, DPD punya calon, dimanapun dia akan ikut, baik di KIH dan KMP. Targetnya Ketua MPR RI," ungkap Oesman Sapta.
Jakarta (B2B) - The Indonesian Regional Representatives Council (DPD) has proposed the name of Oesman Sapta for the leadership of the People Consultative Assembly (MPR), DPD Chairman Irman Gusman said here on Tuesday.
"We are proposing a name (Oesman Sapta) for MPRs leadership, and the name has been selected through deliberations within sections of the DPD," he said.
He remarked that Oesman Saptas name was chosen through the internal selection mechanism of the DPD.
"If there is another name, then that will get the sanction of the DPD," he said.
According to him, Oesman Sapta had a good track record as compared to eight other candidates considered by the DPD.
He observed that Oesman had many supporters within the DPD that proposed his name for MPRs leadership.
"Oesman has many votes as he had been deputy speaker of the MPR," he affirmed.
He noted that the Plenary Session of the Assembly could reconcile the Red-White Coalition with Jokowis coalition.
He said the proposal of the DPD was acceptable to the Red-White Coalition and the Great Indonesia Coalition.
"Hopefully, this moment will see the reconciliation of the Red-White Coalition with the Great Indonesia Coalition," he emphasized.
He expressed hope that the DPD, the Red-White Coalition and the Great Indonesia Coalition will together oversee the next government.
