Jakarta (B2B) - Ketua DPR RI Marzuki Alie berpendapat Pertamina seharusnya melaporkan terlebih dulu rencana kenaikan harga elpiji 12 kg kepada Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) dan komisi terkait di DPR.
"Pertamina itu mendapatkan hak monopoli dalam penyediaan gas elpiji yang ditujukan bagi rakyat. Dalam monopoli itu artinya pimpinan Pertamina harus melapor dulu kepada pemerintah dan komisi mitranya di DPR bahwa ada keinginan menaikkan harga," kata Marzuki di Jakarta, Senin (6/1/014).
Menurut Marzuki, hak monopoli Pertamina untuk penyediaan gas elpiji bagi masyarakat itu sebenarnya adalah penugasan, maka harga gas elpiji harus tetap dikendalikan oleh pemerintah dan Pertamina.
"Yang namanya hak monopoli itu tidak bisa diberlakukan sewenang-wenang dengan alasan corporate action yang ditentukan oleh faktor untung-rugi," ujarnya.
Ia juga berpendapat bahwa pemerintah tentu dapat menganulir keputusan Pertamina dalam menaikkan harga gas elpiji.
"Namanya penugasan tentu yang memberi tugas (pemerintah) seharusnya bisa menganulir itu," katanya.
Jakarta (B2B) - Indonesian House Speaker Marzuki Alie expressed regret over state-owned oil and gas company Pertaminas step in increasing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) price without prior consultation with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"It is very nice of it if Pertamina gets the monopoly but it could decide the price based on the market mechanism. If it is willing to use the market price, the monopoly right should not be given to Pertamina. Pertamina belongs to the state so that it has public responsibility," the House Speaker said.
He said that Pertamina who was given the monopoly and must have the responsibility to the people, should not hike the price at will only because of the market price or the US dollar value increased now.
Marzuki in a press statement on Sunday said that the increase of non-subsidized gas in 12-kg cylinders from Rp5,850 per kg to Rp9,809 per kg or from 70,200 to Rp117,708 per cylinder burdened the people.
"I regret very much Pertaminas decision to directly hike the price of LPG in 12-kg cylinders without reporting it to the President," Marzuki Alie remarked.
