Jakarta (B2B) - Kepolisian Daerah Metropolitan Jakarta Raya (Polda Metro Jaya) mengerahkan 18.000 personel guna mengamankan seluruh rangkaian kegiatan Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) 2014.
"Sebanyak 18.000 lebih personel mencakup Polda Metro Jaya dan jajaran Polres akan disebar di seluruh TPS (Tempat Pemungutan Suara)," kata Kepala Bidang Humas Polda Metro Jaya Komisaris Besar Polisi Rikwanto di Jakarta, Minggu.
Selain melakukan pengamanan, polisi juga akan melakukan pengalihan arus lalu lintas kendaraan agar tidak terjadi kepadatan dan kemacetan pada titik tertentu selama masa kampanye.
Rikwanto mengungkapkan hari ini Polda Metro Jaya antara lain menerima pemberitahuan kegiatan rapat umum dengan sekitar 1.500 peserta untuk kampanye yang akan dilakukan calon anggota DPD Fahira Ifris di Gedung Youth Center, Jalan Otista Jakarta Timur.
Selain itu DPW PKS DKI Jakarta menggelar rapat besar di Stadion Gelora Bung Karno dengan massa sampai 80.000 orang, PKB Jakarta Utara mengerahkan 250 orang untuk kampanye di Jalan Sekui Sunter dan sekitar 10.000 anggota PDI Perjuangan Bekasi melakukan di Lapangan Teluk Pucung.

"The Jakarkta Police will field some 18,000 personnel to secure the legislative elections. They will be stationed at all polling booths," Jakarta Police Spokesman Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said here on Sunday.
Regarding the election campaign activities, Rikwanto said that the number of police officers who would be deployed would be adjusted to the situation and conditions in the field.
Besides securing the stages of elections activities, the police also will arrange the traffic flows to prevent and overcome traffic jams in certain road sections.
Rikwanto said that the Jakarta Police had received information on the plan to hold a public debate on Sunday by Fahira Ifris, a Regional Representative Council (DPD)s legislative candidate at the Otista Youth Center, East Jakarta with a number of supporters reaching 1,500 people.
The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) also will also hold a campaign with supporters reaching 80,000 at the Bung Karno Sports Stadium. In North Jakarta, campaign activities would be organized by the National Awakening Party (PKB) with 250 supporters.
